Kaia Sofie Ingolfsland
Oslo-based Kaia Sofie Ingolfsland is one of Norway’s fastest rising stars having already ridden 37 winners in her fledgling career which began in 2016.
Although Ingolfsland took riding lessons from an early age her initial focus was on handball, a sport in which she excelled and represented her country at secondary school. At the age of 18 and disadvantaged among her handball contemporaries by her height and weight she turned her attention to horses and an amateur licence soon followed.
Within two years Ingolfsland became an apprentice and is currently working full-time with one of Scandinavia’s leading trainers, Wido Neuroth, and with her talents increasing catching the attention of trainers can usually be found on a Scandinavian racetrack whenever there is racing.
Ingolfsland’s most important win to date was aboard Barny who she rode to win the EMPA Øvrevoll Sprint Cup for Annette Stjernstrand on Norwegian National Day.
